The Columbia Gorge Tribal Food Sovereignty Coalition hosted the first of a series of community canning classes led by Coalition member and Nch'i Wana Housing Executive Director, Debra Whitefoot. Hosted in the community kitchen at Columbia Gorge Community College, this workshop taught attendees the art of making dill pickles. Everyone learned water bath canning best practices, along with tips on making delicous well-spiced brine.
We all had a lot of fun and came away with jars and jars of pickles!
